2024 ACTIVITIES

2. On 25 September 2024, Prof. Dr. Pınar Gedikkaya participated as a speaker in the session titled “Green Economy and Circular Economy Applications in the Value Chain” at the Sustainability Conference 2024, organised in partnership with Green Business Platform and IQ PARTNERS.

3. Prof. Dr. Pınar Gedikkaya, Director of BÜSAM, delivered a 1.5-hour training to approximately 300 participants from the business world as part of the “Addressing Sustainability with ESG Dimensions Webinar,” organised by Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) Academy.

4. On 1 December 2024, a “Sustainable Living Festival” trip was organised under the leadership of BÜSAM.  A group consisting of academics and students participated in the Sustainable Living Festival, organised under the leadership of the Sustainable Living School, with Akbank as the main sponsor and the support of Koç University and Marmara University. 

5. The Sustainable Development Goals Podcast Series was recorded and shared on Spotify.

6. On 25 May 2024, Prof. Dr. Pınar Gedikkaya, Director of BÜSAM, served as a jury member at the Plastic-Free Festival, organised in collaboration with The Purest Solutions Academy and the Circles of Impact Foundation, in the Upcycle Art category.

7. Prof. Dr. Pınar Gedikkaya, Director of BÜSAM, delivered a seminar titled “The Importance of the Green Deal for the EU: A Multidimensional Analysis” on 28 March 2024, as part of the “Green Deal, Sustainable Trade, and Türkiye’s Integration” Jean Monnet Module seminars at Istanbul Medipol University.

8. On 27 March 2024, Prof. Dr. Pınar Gedikkaya, Director of BÜSAM, participated in the meeting titled “Sustainable Finance, UN Sustainable Development Goals, and Innovation: Can SMEs Make a Difference in Global Development?,” held at the University of Greenwich in the United Kingdom.

10. 1st International Migration Seminar (18 December 2024 / face to face). This event was organised with the contributions of Prof. Dr. Pınar Gedikkaya, Director of BÜSAM.

11. On 16 September 2024, Prof. Dr. Pınar Gedikkaya, Director of BÜSAM, delivered the training titled “Understanding Sustainability” at the Vocational School Personal Development Training Sessions.

12. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bekir Aşık, Advisory Board Member of BÜSAM, served as the Chair of the Organising Committee of the 2nd Economy and Finance Congress on 6 November 2024.

13. Dr. Melek Özlem Ayas, Res. Asst., PhD, researcher at BÜSAM, delivered a speech titled “Migration in the European Union: The Rise of Populism” at Marmara University on 25 December 2024.
